After some time of coding, we proudly present our first wordpress plug in, Interesting Articles. The plug in is an idea of Synadakis Aggelos and was developed by Skalistis Stefanos.
It is very common that people reach our site via google or any other search engine (according to google analytics, 65% of our traffic is due to search engines). This is great, but there is a disadvantage. People just see the article they want and they searched for in google, but they have no idea about what else is on the blog. This is the main issue that the Interesting Articles plug in is trying to solve.
The plug in presents at the bottom of each page (pic 1) the 4 more “interesting” articles, with link, title and image, according to you. In this way, the accidental visitor is informed about the most hot topics of your blog. Beside that, the plug in uses the ultimate tag warrior plug in (you have to install it separately) and shows the articles of your blogs that are related with the current one. In this way, the visitor is informed that there are more articles on your blog concerning the issue he was looking for in the search engine.
The plug in helps a lot in the rising of the blog traffic. We are testing this plug in in newsfilter.gr for some months and, according to google analytics, we had a rise of 34% after installing the plug in for the first time. This is because it is easier for the visitor to see that there are more things to see and do in your site.
Installation:
- Download the plug in (link provided below).
- Upload the whole “InterestingArticles” folder in the wp-contentplugins folder.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah! he might face this problem!
By the way… If you intent to use this plug in, it might be that you need to change the titles (Interesting Articles and Related Articles) into English because we forgot them in Greek. Next version will be changed!
thx

Updating to wordpress 2.3 makes UTW useless, since all the job is done by the wordpress itself.
Related articles is not something supported by wordpress so we need a plugin again. The one I suggest is WP 2.3 related posts.
In order to make intresting articles plugin work properly with this realted articles plugin, you only have to replace “” with “” in the plug in code.
Soon, we are going to release an update with this issue fixed. We are not doing this yet, because a lot of people is still using UTW.
Thank you.
